PRENTISS — Three individuals sustained injuries after a single-engine plane crash-landed Saturday afternoon in Jefferson Davis County, according to authorities.

The incident occurred on Thurman Road, where a man, woman, and child—identities not yet released—were taken by private vehicle to Covington County Hospital in Collins with non-life-threatening injuries, WDAM-TV reported.

Witnesses described the plane approaching low over a treeline before it struck the ground. The aircraft reportedly bounced, lost a wheel, and came to a stop upright; at least one wing collapsed upon impact.

The pilot indicated engine troubles prior to the accident. Authorities confirmed that federal investigators are en route to the scene to assess the situation further.
