86-Year-Old Cherokee Woman Dies in Garfield County Crash.

GARFIELD COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — An 86-year-old woman is dead following a crash on Thursday morning in Garfield County.

Emergency crews responded to the accident at 9 a.m. at the intersection of US 412 and Hwy 132. According to investigators, Betty Mitchell was driving southbound on Hwy 132 when her vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign.

Mitchell's vehicle was struck by a westbound vehicle. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was injured; however, authorities have not released details concerning the extent of his injuries.

The Garfield County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. No details regarding lane closures or tows have been provided.
