(TNND) — A U.S. Army Apache helicopter crashed Tuesday near the Strait of Hormuz, with no reported injuries to the pilots.

According to U.S. Central Command, the AH-64 Apache went down near Oman while conducting a patrol mission. The pilots were rescued within approximately two hours and are in stable condition, authorities said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Further details are expected to be released later Tuesday.

President Donald Trump confirmed the pilots’ safety while speaking to reporters at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. “The pilots are fine,” he stated.

The incident comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, following recent exchanges of fire, raising concerns about regional stability. Mediators led predominantly by Pakistan are attempting to broker a broader agreement to address ongoing conflicts, including those involving Hezbollah.

Lebanon’s Army Commander Gen. Rodolphe Haykal visited Pakistan on Tuesday to discuss diplomatic efforts regarding Iran.
