LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person is dead following a crash near Harry Reid Airport on Monday night.
The incident occurred around 8:24 p.m. at the intersection of East Hacienda Avenue and University Center Drive, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Authorities reported that a 2006 Audi TT was speeding westbound on Hacienda Avenue when it failed to slow down and collided with a block wall.
The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, and until then, this incident will not be classified as a traffic-related fatality.
The LVMPD Collision Investigation Section is currently investigating the matter. No additional details about the driver or potential witnesses have been released at this time.
