One Killed in Ashland, NH, Two-Vehicle Crash on I-93
ASHLAND, N.H. — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 93 northbound on Monday morning.
New Hampshire State Police responded to the incident just after 7 a.m. Authorities found a Chevrolet Traverse SUV in the median and a box truck in the breakdown lane upon arrival.
According to the investigation, the SUV's driver lost control after overcorrecting from the left lane, subsequently colliding with the box truck. The SUV then veered into the median, striking a rock. An off-duty Concord firefighter and other motorists provided aid, with CPR administered on the scene.
The driver of the SUV, identified as 64-year-old Terrence McSalley of Ashland, was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced dead. The box truck driver reported no injuries.
The left lane of I-93 north was closed for approximately two hours while emergency personnel cleared the area.
The incident remains under investigation.
