COLUMBUS, Ohio — A truck driver charged in a fatal I-71 crash sought dismissal of the case, citing prejudicial publicity, according to court filings.
The defendant, Modou Ngom, is charged with aggravated homicide in the deaths of Lynnea Soposki, Luke Soposki and their 1-year-old son, Logan, authorities said.
Investigators said Ngom failed to stop on I-71 and struck a stopped car, killing the family of three.
In the motion, Ngom argues comments by Public Safety Director Andy Wilson about Ngom being involved in “other criminal activities” have tainted the case and made a fair trial impossible, according to the filing.
The state has requested a 10-day extension to respond to the motion, prosecutors said.
