EL RENO, Okla. (KOKH) — Four young people were killed in a wrong-way crash on I-40 early Friday morning.
At approximately 12:01 a.m., Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers reported that a vehicle was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near Czech Hall Rd. It collided with another vehicle carrying four individuals. All four occupants of the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Kiercy Hickson, 19-year-old Quincy Jones, 18-year-old Haleigh Salazar, and Brad Palmer.
In the aftermath, El Reno Public Schools announced that counseling and support services will be available for students and staff. The school community is mourning the loss of three recent graduates, Quincy Jones and Brad Palmer, both of the Class of 2026, and Haleigh Salazar, from the Class of 2025.
Authorities are investigating the crash, and further details regarding lane closures and tows will be provided as they become available.
