DERBY, VT — Two seriously injured in rollover crash on Salem Derby Road Wednesday evening.
Vermont State Police and Derby Line Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. First responders found a totaled white Volvo XC70 off the roadway.
The driver, 20-year-old Aiden Lamoureaux of Newport City, was traveling north when he crossed Vermont Route 105, lost control, and rolled into a field, ejecting him from the vehicle. Authorities reported that Lamoureaux sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to UVM Medical Center.
The passenger, 19-year-old Aiden Farrand of Charleston, sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive. He was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to North Country Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. State Police are urging witnesses who saw the Volvo prior to the incident to contact the Derby barracks at 802-334-8881.
