A semi-tractor trailer crashed off Bloomington Road in Champaign on June 27, 2013.
According to Champaign Fire Marshal John Koller, the driver was traveling eastbound on I-74 when he left the highway and crashed near Beaumont Tire and Auto Repair. Both the semi-truck driver and the driver of an IDOT truck involved in the collision were transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
The semi-truck was reported to be unloaded at the time of the incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Emergency responders included Champaign Fire and State Police, along with Reynolds Towing Service Inc. in Urbana. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
