Lede: A DART bus crashed into a tree outside the White Rock DART Rail Station early Monday morning, injuring five individuals.

Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) received a call at 5:46 a.m. reporting the crash at 7333 E. Northwest Highway. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the bus had jumped the curb, collided with a bus stop shelter, and crashed into a tree.

The driver and four passengers were transported to a hospital; no additional injuries were reported. DART officials are investigating the cause of the incident.

At the scene, one DART track was deenergized for cleanup, but rail services were not canceled. A DART worker reported delays as trains took turns passing through the area. Passengers expressed frustration over the delays, with some, including nursing students on their first day at El Centro College, opting to call an Uber.

Tow trucks were seen attempting to remove the bus from the stairs where it came to rest. DART personnel anticipate that the area will be cleared by the afternoon commute but advise passengers to check for updates.
