DES MOINES, Iowa — A dump truck driver sustained minor injuries Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Northwest 66th Avenue.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported the incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. in the 2300 block of Northwest 66th Avenue. Only the dump truck was involved, with no other vehicles or individuals impacted.
The driver was transported to a local hospital; their identity has not been disclosed. Investigators remained on the scene Tuesday evening to determine the cause of the crash.
Authorities indicated that Northwest 66th Avenue would be closed for approximately two hours between the 900 and 2300 blocks for the investigation. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. No further details were immediately available.
