Officers responded to the scene around 2:41 p.m. after reports of a collision at the intersection of River Road and Highway 17. Authorities confirmed that speed is believed to have been a contributing factor.
The motorcycle was found hanging from a traffic light after the crash. The rider, whose age has not been disclosed, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical care. The driver of the car was unharmed.
