An 18-year-old woman died and another passenger was injured in a rollover crash in Cass County, Iowa, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The accident occurred at 5:13 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the intersection of Highway 6 and 582nd Street. Passenger Ciera Jo Bullock of Glencoe, Minnesota, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that Bullock was a passenger in a 2025 Kia traveling eastbound on Highway 6 when the vehicle left the roadway, rolled in a ditch, and ejected her. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
Driver Dakota Jean Bullock, also from Glencoe and wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol did not specify if charges were filed in connection with the crash.
This incident marks the second rollover fatality reported by the state patrol on May 9. Earlier, at 2:33 a.m., a 15-year-old passenger died in a separate rollover accident in Cherokee County, where the youth also was not wearing a seatbelt. Another unbelted youth was seriously injured, while the driver and another passenger, both wearing seatbelts, sustained minor injuries.
