Fatal hit-and-run crash leaves one dead, one injured.

DENVER — A 29-year-old man, Jeffery Alvarez, was arrested in connection with a fatal crash early Saturday morning on the Speer Boulevard on-ramp to northbound Interstate 25.

Authorities reported the incident occurred around 1 a.m., involving two vehicles. One person was and later , while another sustained minor injuries. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Denver Medical Examiner's Office at a later time.

Witnesses noted that the suspected driver fled the scene on foot. Details on the suspect's description have not been made public.

The on-ramp was closed for several hours as officials conducted an investigation. This incident marks one of three deadly hit-and-run crashes in the Denver metro area from Friday night into Saturday morning.

Earlier, a 16-year-old on an electric scooter was struck and killed in Aurora, while another pedestrian was killed in a crash in Westminster, where a suspect has since returned to the scene.
