Court to Consider Dismissing Charges Against Driver Who Hit Johnny Gaudreau

Attorneys for Sean Higgins on April 16, 2026, moved in New Jersey to dismiss charges from the 2024 crash that killed Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.

According to defense attorneys, the filing asks a judge to dismiss counts stemming from the Aug. 29, 2024 collision.

Authorities said Higgins, 45, is charged with reckless vehicular homicide, aggravated manslaughter and related offenses.

Prosecutors allege he was driving under the influence when the crash occurred.

The motion is pending court review.
