A collision on Route 295 in Baltimore has left two people injured and caused significant delays, authorities said.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., Maryland Transportation Authority Police responded to a report of an accident involving three vehicles near the exit for Fort McHenry Tunnel, according to officials.

“Two individuals have been transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries,” authorities said in a statement.

The southbound lanes of Route 295 were closed for nearly two hours as first responders cleared the scene and conducted an investigation.

As of 5:00 p.m., one lane has reopened, but delays are expected to persist throughout the evening commute, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
