New details emerge following fatal crash involving OSU bus and woman killed.

PERRY, Okla. (KOKH) — A was struck and killed by an Oklahoma State University Softball Team on I-35 on October 10.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. near Mile Marker 187. Multiple calls were received regarding a walking into traffic on the east shoulder.

As OHP troopers responded, they were informed that a collision had taken place. Investigators reported that the was traveling northbound in the right lane when 62-year-old Susan Lee Darst stepped into traffic. Despite the driver's attempt to switch lanes to avoid her, Darst stepped directly in front of the bus.

Efforts to stop were unsuccessful, and Darst was at the scene. The driver of the bus sustained minor injuries, but authorities confirmed that none of the 35 passengers were hurt.

The OHP is investigating the incident further. Lane closures were in effect during the response and investigation.
