CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — Two students were killed and several others injured March 27 on Highway 70 when a school bus collided with a TDOT truck.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash involved a Clarksville-Montgomery County School System bus and a Tennessee Department of Transportation vehicle. The National Transportation Safety Board is assisting the investigation.
Authorities identified the bus driver as Sabrina R. Ducksworth. Investigation into the cause remains active.
According to the family's attorneys, John and Jessica Davis, parents of student Zoe Davis, have filed a negligence lawsuit against CMCSS and Ducksworth.
Attorneys said the complaint alleges negligent hiring, training, and supervision by CMCSS, and negligence by the driver. The family is seeking damages to be determined by a jury.
CMCSS declined to comment on the lawsuit, citing pending litigation. A spokesperson previously said Ducksworth had no disciplinary actions on file and that the district is cooperating with state and federal investigators.
