A 48-year-old man from Rexburg died following a crash on Highway 37 after striking a deer, according to Montana Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred when the man was driving a side-by-side northbound on Highway 37. After colliding with the deer, he swerved left, went over a guardrail, and rolled the vehicle, which came to rest on its passenger side.

Authorities reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries on March 29.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
