XENIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WSYX) — A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 42 in Xenia Township on Sunday evening left a Wilmington woman dead and two passengers injured.
According to the Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Elijah Powell, 19, of Reynoldsburg, was driving a 2004 Honda Accord on U.S. 42 when it struck a 2022 Honda Civic attempting a left turn, driven by Melissa Fields, 49, of Wilmington.
After the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in the southwest ditch of the intersection, authorities said.
Fields was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where she later died from her injuries, according to the patrol.
Powell was treated at the scene for possible injuries. Authorities said two passengers traveling with him sustained minor injuries.
