Multi-Vehicle Collision Leaves One Dead in Central Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ — A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 resulted in one fatality early Saturday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. near the 7th Avenue exit, involving four vehicles. Emergency responders from the Phoenix Fire Department arrived on scene to provide medical aid; however, one individual was pronounced dead at the location.
Two others sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The conditions of these individuals have not been disclosed.
Authorities closed the two left lanes of westbound I-10 while the scene was cleared, affecting traffic flow for over an hour. The Arizona Department of Transportation advised motorists to seek alternative routes during the cleanup.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department. No further details about the deceased or those injured have been released as notifications to next of kin are pending.
