A 32-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Sullivan, Maine, Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at 10:39 a.m. near Taunton Drive, according to the Hancock County Sheriff's Office. Gared L. Birdtail, 32, from Milbridge, Maine, was reportedly driving west on Route 1 at a high speed when he failed to navigate a curve.
Birdtail's 2010 Dodge Avenger veered off the road, traveled down an embankment, struck a tree, rolled onto its roof, and collided with another tree before finally coming to a stop. He was alone in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
