Tragedy struck the Toyota Hub City Grand Prix race in Jackson, Tennessee, on March 28 following a school bus crash.
On March 27, a bus transporting Kenwood Middle School students and staff overturned en route to the event. Two students were pronounced dead at the scene, and several others were airlifted to nearby hospitals, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The accident involved a dump truck from the Tennessee Department of Transportation and a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Emergency services responded promptly, with multiple agencies assisting at the scene. Lane closures were implemented, and an investigation into the crash is ongoing, authorities said.
