BUTTE, Mont. — A 35-year-old man from Palmdale, California, died in a single-vehicle crash near Butte late March 14.
The incident occurred at 11:54 p.m. near mile marker 227 on I-90. According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling westbound when it left the roadway, entering the median with little to no steering input from the driver.
The vehicle traveled approximately 550 feet in the median and collided with a bridge structure. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Montana Highway Patrol reported that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt, and speed is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash. No other injuries were reported.
