Breaking News: Traffic Accident on Route 66 Involving Multiple Vehicles
LAKEVIEW, Oct. 7—A multi-vehicle accident occurred on Route 66 at approximately 4:15 p.m. today, resulting in significant traffic disruption.
Authorities reported that three vehicles were involved in the collision, which took place near the Maple Street intersection. Emergency services were on scene, including local police and medical responders. Two individuals sustained injuries and were transported to Lakeview General Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported that the accident caused debris to scatter across the eastbound lanes, leading to partial lane closures. Traffic was redirected, creating backups in both directions.
According to the Lakeview Department of Public Safety, an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. No fatalities have been reported at this time. Tow trucks are currently removing the vehicles from the accident site, and authorities anticipate reopening the roadway shortly.
