Two women identified as victims of fatal crash in central North Dakota, according to patrol.

BISMARCK — Two women were killed in a on Highway 83 near Wilton at 10:26 a.m. on February 8.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Doreen Hexom, 80, of Williston, was driving a 2021 GMC Acadia southbound in the northbound lanes when she struck a 2016 Nissan Maxima head-on, driven by 21-year-old Portia Matthiesen of Bismarck.

Both women were transported to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, where they were due to their injuries. Conditions at the time of the crash were reported as foggy. Hexom was wearing a seatbelt; Matthiesen was not.

The incident occurred approximately six miles south of Wilton, which is located 26 miles north of Bismarck in Burleigh County. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
