West Des Moines— A wrong-way crash on Interstate 35 southbound resulted in a fatality and closed the highway for several hours on March 18.
According to authorities, Minh Thi, 80, of West Des Moines, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes just after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Thi sustained fatal injuries from the collision.
Two other drivers involved in the incident were reported to have non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The crash led to the closure of I-35 southbound from Mills Civic Parkway to I-80 for approximately four hours while emergency responders managed the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash but do not anticipate filing charges.
