UPDATE: A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 25 in Springfield resulted in three injuries and significant traffic delays this afternoon.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. near Elm Street, involving four vehicles traveling northbound.
Emergency responders from the Springfield Fire Department provided medical aid at the scene, with three individuals transported to Springfield General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic was rerouted an hour after the incident, leading to lane closures in both directions until about 3:00 p.m.
According to the State Highway Patrol, the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
