Crash on I-495 south in Franklin disrupts evening commute; one injured
FRANKLIN, Mass. —
A crash on I-495 south in Franklin caused significant delays during the evening commute on Tuesday.
According to Massachusetts State Police, a two-car collision occurred around 5 p.m. near mile marker 43, resulting in one injury and a complete closure of the roadway.
The injured individual was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported that a white Jeep collided with a red vehicle, both of which sustained considerable front-end damage.
Traffic was severely impacted until the roadway reopened at 6:35 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation; authorities have not indicated whether any charges will be filed.
