Motorcycle Crash on I-435 Results in Serious Fire, One Injury
KANSAS CITY, MO — A motorcycle accident occurred on I-435 near Holmes Road at approximately 2:41 p.m. on October 12, 2023, resulting in one confirmed injury.
According to authorities, the motorcycle flipped over and caught fire after the driver applied brakes while traveling at high speeds. Emergency responders from the Kansas City Fire Department arrived at the scene and provided medical aid to the motorcyclist, whose condition has not been disclosed.
The incident involved only one vehicle, and the motorcycle was towed from the scene. Initially, the right lane of I-435 was closed to facilitate emergency response, but authorities have since reopened all lanes.
