Local family seeks safety improvements after three car crashes into their home in Lititz, Pa., most recently on Sunday.
The latest incident occurred just before 6 a.m. Sunday when a 2004 Honda Accord crashed into the residence off Hershey Road. Authorities confirmed no serious injuries were reported.
Homeowner Rebecca Zartman expressed concern for her children following previous incidents, including one in May that injured her 1-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son while they played inside the home. “It's concerning to have three accidents involving our house in less than a year,” Zartman said.
Since the last crash, Zartman and her family have been living with her mother, Barb Ruhl. Ruhl noted, “They've been with us since May 26. They're out of their house, out of their element.”
Ruhl emphasized the need for safety measures along Route 322, stating, “We want boulders put in place here. We want things that will protect this out.”
The family is advocating for changes to prevent future incidents, hoping to allow their grandchildren to play safely at home. Authorities are currently reviewing the situation.
