SOMERSET, Ohio — A 19-year-old Crooksville man died Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash about 3:47 p.m. on State Route 13 in Reading Township, authorities said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Lancaster Post, troopers responded to the crash on State Route 13 near State Route 757.
Investigators said a northbound 2024 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Erhan Icyer, 42, of Chicago, was struck by a southbound 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by AJ T. Roberts, 19, of Crooksville, after the pickup went left of center.
Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said Icyer sustained minor injuries and declined EMS transport.
According to the patrol, assisting agencies included the Perry County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Somerset and Reading Township Fire and EMS, the Perry County Coroner's Office, A&L Towing, and Eitel's Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
