GRAFTON, Mass. — A Massachusetts State Police trooper was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash on Sunday evening.
Trooper Jacob Mick, 31, was involved in the collision at the intersection of Providence Road and Milford Road around 6:45 p.m., according to the Grafton Police Department.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a passenger vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, as stated by the Worcester County District Attorney's Office.
“He was a proud Trooper and public servant who never hesitated to answer the call,” said Col. Geoffrey Noble in a statement. “We remember and honor Trooper Mick's years of service.”
Mick graduated with the 88th Recruit Training Troop in 2023. He previously served with the Northborough Police Department and is remembered as a dedicated public servant.
Investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been released. Lane closures were reported in the area following the incident, and tow services were dispatched.
