Two people killed in crash on I-290 eastbound in Marlborough, authorities confirm.

A crash on Monday afternoon involving two SUVs resulted in two fatalities on Interstate 290 eastbound.
Images from aerial surveillance show severe damage to a white SUV, while a black SUV came to rest in the median trees.
One lane in the opposite direction was temporarily closed for emergency response.
The Marlborough Fire Battalion Chief confirmed that both deceased individuals were ejected from the white SUV.
One person from the black SUV was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Two dogs were in the white vehicle; one was taken to an animal hospital for treatment, while the other was uninjured and transferred to Marlborough Animal Control.
Traffic delays extended for several hours before the roadway was cleared and reopened.
