CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — An ATV crash on Wellington Ave. early Sunday morning left one passenger in critical condition.
The incident occurred at 12:07 a.m. when the ATV entered a closed construction zone, striking a sign and multiple traffic barriers, as reported by the Cranston Police Department.
Both the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital. While the driver suffered minor injuries and has been released, the passenger sustained severe head trauma and a brain bleed.
Authorities stated there is currently no indication that alcohol was involved in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
