Pedestrian Fatality in Jackson; Driver Arrested for Aggravated DUI
Jackson police confirmed a fatal pedestrian incident occurred on Highway 80 near Ellis Avenue at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday. A 56-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a white GMC while attempting to cross the roadway.
Officers identified the driver, Monica Magee, as being intoxicated at the time of the crash. She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with aggravated DUI. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
