A crash in a closed smart lane on Interstate 670 near 5th Avenue in Columbus occurred Monday morning, authorities said.
According to the Columbus Division of Police crash report, a car traveling in the closed smart lane struck a disabled SUV stopped on the shoulder.
The report states the car's driver could not change lanes because a truck was also traveling in the smart lane ahead.
Video of the crash shows a person standing outside the SUV jumping onto a barrier as the car hit the SUV.
According to a 911 call from the SUV, the vehicle became disabled when a tire fell off and it struck a wall.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the smart lane was closed at the time and functions as an emergency shoulder when closed, marked by a red X.
Injuries were not immediately reported, and authorities did not release the number of occupants.
Police said the crash remains under investigation; information on medical aid, tows and additional lane closures was not available.
