A UPS cargo plane crashed in Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday, November 4, injuring crew members on board.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Fern Valley Road and Grade Lane, near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The flight, identified as UPS Flight 2976, was departing for Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu when it went down, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Authorities have issued a shelter-in-place order for areas within a five-mile radius of the airport, advising the public to avoid the vicinity. Louisville Metro Emergency Services confirmed the airfield is closed following the “aircraft incident.”
