Multi-Vehicle Collision on Route 1 Leaves One Dead
DOVER, DE – A multi-vehicle collision occurred on Route 1 southbound near Exit 92 at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.
Authorities said the crash involved three vehicles, including a sedan and two pickup trucks. One driver, a 34-year-old male, sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Two additional individuals were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Delaware State Police and local emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. Traffic was significantly impacted, with two lanes closed for several hours during the investigation and subsequent clean-up efforts. Towing services removed the vehicles involved.
As of now, the cause of the accident is under investigation, and no further details have been released. Traffic is reported to be returning to normal as of 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
