Laurel Man Killed in Two-Car Crash on Route 9
A 25-year-old man from Laurel died following a two-car crash on Route 9 east of Georgetown on October 16 around 6:15 p.m., according to Delaware State Police.
The victim was driving a Honda Civic west on Route 9 when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an Audi A4. Police reported the driver of the Honda was not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Identification will be made once family notifications are complete.
The 18-year-old woman driving the Audi from Hockessin sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to a hospital for treatment.
