Crash Involving Three Vehicles on Highway 74 Leaves One Dead, Two Injured
A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 74 in Akron on Tuesday afternoon resulted in one fatality and two injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near mile marker 22.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the collision involved three vehicles, including a sedan and two trucks. One individual, identified as a 34-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others, ages 28 and 31, were transported to Akron General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emergency response units, including the Akron Fire Department and local paramedics, arrived shortly after the crash was reported. Authorities blocked both eastbound lanes of Highway 74 for approximately two hours while first responders tended to the scene and conducted an investigation.
The roadway has since been reopened. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing as they work to determine the cause of the crash. Further details will be released as they become available.
