Lede: A fatal crash occurred Saturday in Gardena, claiming the life of a male driver who was ejected upon impact.

The incident took place at 1:02 p.m. in the 14100 block of Normandie Avenue, according to Gardena Police Traffic Sgt. Daniel Guzzo. Preliminary investigations indicate the driver was traveling southbound when he veered into the northbound lanes, colliding with a wall at the northeast corner of Normandie and 141st Street.

Paramedics transported the injured driver to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
