Zumbrota, MN – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup truck on Wednesday at 5:25 p.m.

According to Zumbrota Police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Second Street West and West Avenue. The victim was walking north in the crosswalk along West Avenue when a westbound pickup truck collided with them.

Emergency responders transported the pedestrian via helicopter to a hospital, where they are currently listed in critical condition. Authorities reported that the truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

An official inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently active.
