NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — 18-year-old Trey Williams is scheduled to plead guilty in connection with a March 2025 crash that killed former Hamilton Southeastern High School football player Mason Alexander.

Court records indicate that Williams' attorneys filed for a guilty plea hearing on Monday. A Hamilton County judge set the hearing for March 11 at 2:00 p.m. The plea agreement has not yet been filed with the court.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on March 1, when a BMW driven by a juvenile and carrying Alexander was traveling southbound on Florida Road, near Geist Park and 113th Street in Fishers. The BMW moved into the northbound lane to overtake another vehicle as a Toyota RAV4 approached from the opposite direction. Both vehicles swerved but lost control, veering off the east side of the road.

The Toyota struck a mailbox, while the BMW collided with a tree and subsequently caught fire. Alexander was at the scene.

Williams faces a low-level felony charge of reckless homicide and a misdemeanor charge of causing injury. Additionally, he has been charged with a misdemeanor count for possessing a fake government ID.
