GERMANTOWN, Md. — A 58-year-old Virginia man died Tuesday after a two-vehicle collision at Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway, authorities said.
According to the Montgomery County Police, the victim was identified as William Vance Payne, 58, of Berryville, Va.
Investigators said Payne was driving a 2007 Toyota Matrix east on Clopper Road when it was struck by a 2015 Kia Optima traveling north on Great Seneca Highway.
Authorities said seven juveniles, ages 12–15, were inside the Kia, including a 13-year-old driver. Police said the Kia was later reported stolen.
The 13-year-old driver was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition, according to police. The other juveniles were taken to area trauma centers; injury details were not released.
Police did not announce charges. According to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office, the case remains under review, and the investigation is ongoing.
